Screenwriting has specific formatting rules. Flik's screenplay editor handles all formatting automatically, so you can focus on storytelling.
Creating a Screenplay
In Agent mode, request: "Create a new screenplay"
The AI creates a properly formatted screenplay document that opens in the center panel.
Screenplay Elements
Press Tab to cycle through element types:
- Scene Heading: INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY
- Action: What we see on screen
- Character: WHO'S SPEAKING
- Dialogue: What they say
- Parenthetical: (how they say it)
- Transition: FADE TO:
Formatting Rules (Automatic)
Flik handles all industry-standard formatting:
- Scene headings: ALL CAPS, positioned left
- Character names: ALL CAPS, centered
- Dialogue: Centered under character
- Action: Left-aligned, regular case
- Page breaks: Automatic, industry-standard
Keyboard Shortcuts
- Tab: Next element type
- Shift+Tab: Previous element type
- Enter: New line, same element
- Cmd+S: Save (auto-saves every 30 seconds)
Exporting
Export to industry-standard formats:
- PDF: For sharing and printing
- Final Draft (.fdx): Import into Final Draft
- Fountain: Plain text screenwriting format
