Exercise 1: Element Panel Navigation

  1. Write a 5-scene screenplay
  2. Open Element Panel (Cmd+E)
  3. See all scenes listed
  4. Click any scene to jump to it
  5. Navigate long scripts efficiently

Exercise 2: Find and Replace

Make global changes:

  1. Press Cmd+F
  2. Find: "SARAH"
  3. Replace with: "ALEX"
  4. Replace All
  5. All character references update

Exercise 3: Import and Clean

  1. Import existing screenplay (PDF or FDX)
  2. Review formatting
  3. Use Find/Replace to fix issues
  4. Clean up to Final Draft standards

Exercise 4: Version Management

Work on revisions:

  1. Save current version
  2. Make significant changes
  3. Compare versions
  4. Revert if needed
