Video Editor Introduction

Complete introduction to Editor mode. Learn the timeline interface, importing media, playback controls, and basic editing operations.

Tutorial Overview

Create your first edited video from imported or generated clips.

Exercise 1: Enter Editor Mode

  1. Click Scissors icon (Editor mode)
  2. Observe interface: preview top, timeline bottom
  3. Notice left panel auto-hides

Exercise 2: Import First Clips

Generate or upload 3 short video clips:

  1. Drag clip 1 to video track V1
  2. Drag clip 2 after clip 1
  3. Drag clip 3 after clip 2

Clips snap together.

Exercise 3: Basic Playback

  • Press Spacebar: Play/pause
  • J/K/L: Rewind/pause/fast-forward
  • Arrow keys: Frame-by-frame
  • Drag playhead to scrub

Exercise 4: Trim Clips

  1. Hover over clip edge
  2. Cursor changes to trim tool
  3. Drag edge to shorten clip
  4. Release when desired length

Exercise 5: Add Audio

  1. Generate music: "Background music, 30 seconds"
  2. Drag to audio track A1
  3. Adjust volume in inspector
  4. Play to hear mix

Exercise 6: Export

  1. Click Export
  2. Choose MP4, 1080p
  3. Export and download
