Introduction
Once your video is edited, export it for sharing or publishing. Flik offers multiple export formats and presets optimized for different platforms.
Starting Export
In Editor mode:
- Click Export button (top-right)
- Export panel appears
- Configure settings
- Click "Start Export"
Export Settings
Format
- MP4: Most compatible, good quality, smaller file size
- MOV: Higher quality, larger file size, professional
- WebM: Web-optimized
For most uses: MP4 is the best choice.
Resolution
- 1080p (1920×1080): Standard HD, good for most platforms
- 4K (3840×2160): Ultra HD, large file size, premium quality
- 720p (1280×720): Smaller file, faster upload, acceptable quality
Quality/Bitrate
- High: Best quality, larger file
- Medium: Balanced (recommended)
- Low: Smaller file, faster export, lower quality
Platform Presets
YouTube:
- 1080p MP4
- High quality
- 16:9 aspect ratio
Instagram Feed:
- 1080p MP4
- Square (1:1) or Portrait (4:5)
- Medium quality
Instagram Stories/Reels:
- 1080p MP4
- Vertical (9:16)
- Medium quality
TikTok:
- 1080p MP4
- Vertical (9:16)
- Medium quality
Export Progress
While exporting:
- Progress bar shows percentage
- Estimated time remaining
- Can continue working on other projects
- Notification when complete
When done:
- Video file appears in your project
- Download button active
- Can preview before downloading
Tips for Better Exports
- Choose preset first: Platform presets optimize automatically
- Higher quality = longer export: Balance quality vs time
- Export overnight: Large 4K exports can take time
- Test with low quality first: Quick preview exports
💡 Quick Preview: Export a low-quality version first to check everything looks right. Then export final high-quality version.
