Introduction
The file browser is your project's file system. Everything you create or upload lives here, organized however you choose. Mastering file organization makes working with AI more efficient and keeps large projects manageable.
File Browser Overview
Located in the left panel, the file browser shows all files and folders in your project.
Key elements:
- Search bar at top (Cmd+F to focus)
- Action buttons (New File, New Folder, Upload)
- View toggle (List vs Grid)
- File tree with expandable folders
Creating Folders
Method 1: Button
- Click "New Folder" button
- Name your folder
- Press Enter
Method 2: AI Agent
- Request: "Create folders for Finance, Marketing, and Design"
- AI creates them automatically
Organizing Files
Drag and Drop
- Drag files into folders to organize
- Drag folders to rearrange hierarchy
- Drag files to Canvas or Editor modes
- Drag multiple selected files together
Multi-Select
- Click: Select single file
- Shift+Click: Select range between two files
- Cmd/Ctrl+Click: Toggle individual files
- Rubber band: Click and drag in Grid view
Renaming
- Right-click file → Rename
- Or ask AI: "Rename these files with consistent naming"
List vs Grid View
Toggle between views using the button in the top-right of the file browser.
List View
Best for:
- Navigating deep folder hierarchies
- Seeing file metadata (size, date, type)
- Quick keyboard navigation
- Dense information display
Grid View
Best for:
- Browsing visual content (images, videos)
- Thumbnail previews
- Visual comparison
- Larger file icons
Search
Cmd+F focuses the search bar. Results update as you type.
Search finds:
- File names
- Folder names
- Files inside folders (recursive)
