Introduction
Drag-and-drop is the fastest way to work in Flik. Move files between panels, reference multiple assets at once, and reorganize your project with simple gestures.
What You Can Drag
From file browser to:
- AI chat: Attach as context or references
- Canvas: Add to mood boards or storyboards
- Timeline: Import into video editor
- Folders: Organize and move files
Dragging to AI Chat
Drag any file from the browser to the QueryBar:
- Images: Used as references for generation
- Documents: AI reads content for context
- Multiple files: Drag several at once for batch context
Use cases:
- Product photo + reference → "Create similar shot"
- Room photo → "Design in modern style"
- Brand assets → "Match this aesthetic"
Dragging to Canvas
Drag images or videos onto the canvas:
- Appears at drop position
- Ready to resize, rotate, arrange
- Build visual layouts and mood boards
Dragging to Timeline
Drag media to video timeline:
- Drop on specific track (video or audio)
- Clips snap to playhead or other clips
- Build sequences quickly
Multi-File Drag
Select multiple files and drag together:
- Shift+Click for range selection
- Cmd+Click for individual files
- Drag any selected file
- All selected files move together
Visual Feedback
While dragging, you'll see:
- Highlighted drop zones (where you can drop)
- Cursor changes to indicate valid drop
- Preview of where file will land
